I have a favorite moment(s) or favorite item(s) catalogued for each wedding I shoot. For Caroline and Adam, I have an entire department. What an amazing wedding! For me, there are some key items that really set a wedding over the top, in my book. The dress, the location, the connection between the couple, and between the couple and their families, the details, and finally the party. Caroline and Adam hit every item and then some.
To start, Caroline’s dress was amazing! The vintage yet modern style fit her perfectly. An original design, Caroline had her dress made by a popular lingerie designer in the Boston area who is known for vintage styling, lace, and other embellishments. Additionally Caroline’s dress could not have weighed more than 5 lbs, but hung like a dress with 5x the fabric. It was perfect for the beach and the warm island weather. The wedding and the cocktail hour took place on Carambola’s west beach. The ceremony was positioned to face the mountain range as opposed to the ocean. The time of day provided beautiful ambient light and shade for everyone in attendance. During the cocktail hour, Caroline and Adam held a wishing lantern ceremony, which was a huge hit with the guests. The site of tiny lanterns all aglow drifting into the sky at dusk is amazingly stunning!
As night began to fall, the reception unfolded into a whirlwind of entertainment, laughter, and dancing. Moko Jumbie dancers got the party started, Kurt Schindler kept the party flowing, and a bar side Photo Booth provided a fun break from all the excitement on the dance floor! As a photographer I was excited and pleased to see the events of the day develop so seamlessly and successfully. I can only imagine how thrilled Caroline and Adam were.
